their are many aspect to it, it does that, but it will have built in line drivers. for you to understand a line driver first you must understand am amp can be it's loudest with the highest RCA voltages, most max out around 8-12 volts. this reduces strain on you're main power line, and will make the amp far more efficiant. the processor allows you to ajust this on the fly, because most decks only have 2volt RCA out's it's an almost guaranteed upgrade to the bass production in you're car.

a few other aspects are subsonic filters, cross overs, and EQ's. some have ALL of these, those will be in the 100-150 range. the sub sonic filter is much like a cross over in that it cuts off, except it's not cutting off a peak it cuts out signal below a certain frequency, eliminating noise and distortion from signals you're sub isn't able to play.

these are genraly not used with higher end gear because they genraly have decks with larger outputs, more efficient amps, and speakers that can play a wider range. hope this has been helpfull

heres one i've been eyeing up
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...eam-BX-15.html

another choice might be
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...e-DBM1500.html

which is on a pretty nice sale right now, and it's pretty much the same thing as the other. i really don't know the difference my self, don't believe ones better than the other.

Default alpine subs

since your lookin for some type r subwoofers, last night i bought this deal from sonic: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...s-Package.html

it is 2 10" dual 2-ohm alpine type r subs with a rockford fosgate prime 1000w rms amp with a box and amp kit all for $550. Also, another plus is i measured the place i want to put the box and it will fit up against the back seats and will still give me full access to the spare and have room to store stuff. once i install those ill give u a little review but im betting that they will pound.

that looks nice, but that box looks a little small for 2 10s, my ported box for my single type-r 10 is almost that big, let us know how it works out though!

ported boxes require twice the volume of that of an equaly rated sealed box.that aside it is sitll on the small side. but they use polyfill , which makes smaller boxes sound larger. because it creates more surface area with minimal inhibition of the sound waves. anyways still nto that great of a deal, fosgate is good but their prime series is meh at best.

I like Rockford Fosgate's Power series. There t600-4 power series amp will probably replace my JL Audio Slash 300/4 amp come spring.. The power series amps are way underrated and there new ones come with an actual power sheet that shows the actual power for that amp you received. i.e most of there Power series t2500-bd amps that are rated 2500RMS usually run at about 3100 to 3400RMS

What? Too small?? Alpine recommends between .5 and .8 cubic feet per sub in a sealed box, that box gives them .78 cubic feet per sub before displacement, .73 after displacement so that box, volume wise, is pretty much perfect for them as far as sealed boxes go. Ported boxes are always going to be bigger as compared to sealed boxes for the same sub.

Is this the correct harness I need for my 04' MC?

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120GMOS...r.html?tp=3486

If it is, is there any where I can get it cheaper?

Also, does it matter what kind of box I get? Ported or sealed? I really don't know the difference.

as far as that harness, it is correct. thats the one i use with my sony mex-bt3800u it works perfectly, just make sure you turn the volume up on the box all the way up because when i plugged mine in to test it i left it the way it came from the factory, the chimes and the overall volume of the radio were very quiet. for the box, its all personal preference. i went with the package from sonic with the sealed box because i still wanted room in my trunk for everyday things and easy access to the spare. That box from sonic is almost a perfect fit in the car, i mounted the amp on the back of the box so i can just fold the seats down and have complete access to it if i have to. hope this was helpful!

What about this one? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...R-GM09SRB.html

Looks like it is an entirely different brand than the one on crutchfield and it is about 40 bucks cheaper too. Anybody know if this will work?
