Default System for 07 monte

My question is what all do i need to buy to completly replace all the speakers in an 07 lt and to run 2 tens in the trunk while still using the factory head unit. I know im gonna need an amp, 6x9's, front door speakers (not sure what size to get) etc. Can you guys please let me know what all i need (wires and all) to have a good sounding system? If you can post links to each part that would be awesome to.

Thanks in advance

Well for front side speakers if you want more high sounds and better quality, Id say 5 1/4, but if you want more bass, gonna want 6 1/2s.
5 1/4

6 1/2
http://www.crutchfield.com/g_52000/6...ers.html?tp=95 (any one of them , I like kenwood though)
6x9

and for subs and amp crutchfield has alot more stuff, and some installation kits as well.

why fact.head unit? just wondering (dont kill me for asking)
5.25s in the doors unless u buy the pods, and make sure they arent to deep if ur going with 6.5s, i think they make a spacer but 5.25s are plenty adequate for 10's. im running 2 6x9 pioneer premier in the rear deck and 2 Pioneer premier 5.25's in the doors and 1 15 inch FI Q series ported in the truck.2 planet audio big bang amps.

He probably wants to keep the factory head unit for the same reason I'm wanting to keep mine in my 06.. I have a built-in 6-disc mp3 changer and it looks sweet already in my dash.. Keeps the interior looking stock, but you have a kick *** sound.. I was looking around last summer and for the couple of garages to do it (no subwoofers, just replace all the speakers & put a nice amp in) was gonna run me around $700.00.. That included the install fee and the little converter box to allow the factory head unit to run an amp.. My 03 had a factory amp in it but my 06 doesn't.. I miss the loudness of my 03.

I put 2 10's with a 300 bridged to 600 pioneer amp, with the factory unit, in the trunk and I pulled the grills off of the door speakers and they are some good looking and working speaks. The system sounds pretty damn good. Pull them out, the door speaks, and have a look at them, you might be surprised. Like I said my 97 has some good one's in it. It is worth looking before you go and buy the them.

Ok here is what you're gonna want to do. You want to get the same size speaker that is in the door now, whatever that is. You want 2 way component speakers that come with a midbass driver a tweeter and a crossover for each door. The midbass driver handles midrange and lower end frequencies, and the tweeters give you the sharp highs you want. As for rears, I dont recommend even putting in aftermarket 6 X 9's because its hard to find a pair to compliment a well selected front stage. If you must, I believe CDT makes a nice 6 X 9 kit that was a crossover and a tweeter with it also. You will need 3 line output converters, one for the front stage speakers, one for rear stage speakers. I recommend getting a four channel amp to power the aftermarket speakers. Underpowering a speaker is actually worse for it than overpowering it. You will also have poor sound quality. You will also need to put another LOC on the rear stage to get your sub outputs. Use one to go to your sub amp. Speaker brands I recommend are CDT, rainbow, focal, CDT, Morel, Oz Audio, and Zapco. For amps I recommend JBL(Crown), Hifonics, McIntosh (expensive but AMAZING), Memphis, and Sundown. For subs, I recommend JBL (specifically W10GTi), Memphis, Fi, Image Dynamics, Digital Designs, and RE. If you have any questions feel free to PM me, or post up.

I would consider maybe picking up an aftermarket head unit, you can do a lot more adjustments on them. Get whatever size door speakers you have and keep your stock back speakers. Then get 1 12. A 600 watt 4 channel bridgeable amp, Run the 2 door speakers on channels 3 and 4 turned on high pass mode, and bridge the sub on channels 1 and 2 on low pass mode.
