i would take them amp apart and look at EVERY thing inside it. sounds like something got crossed inside the amp. as for your sub...idk on that one. ive never had one do that.

So your subs are wired up to 1 ohm... from the other posts, it sounds to me that your subs shouldn't be wired to 1 ohm so....

So I think the wiring is wrong.. and I'm afraid that the subs voice coils are possibly burnt (considering the smoke) I'd be worried that subs would burn out the amp but I got my fingers crossed for u

Questions to ask:
What gauge wire are you running inside and out of the sub box?

What are your subs rated at RMS?
(Should be something like 1000watts RMS @ 1ohm // 750watts RMS at 4ohms) something similar...

Then what is your amp's RMS... and is your amp is stable @ 1 ohm? (should tell u in the book for the amp)
Is it a mono amp? (just because it has 4 terminals on the amp doesn't mean it isn't a mono amp!)

SO next step is to re-wire everything... double check it and try again

when i used that DMM on the terminals NO wires where hooked up at the time. when they are hooked up one reads .3 and the other reads .7 which in turn makes 1ohm? well i took the amp out for now with hopes its not blown. it still turns on and it doesnt smell or anything so i think its okay. my sub is 300RMS/900peak, amp is 500rms/1000peak at 2ohms it is also a mono amp. the speaker wire for the sub is all 14 guage.

i have watched so many videos and read alot of forums on wiring a DVC 4ohm sub to 2ohms. i wired my sub (+) to (+) and (-) to (-) and then used the outer terminals (+) and (-) to run to the amp. what did i do wrong here?

dont be scared to take it apart. ive taken mine apart so many times just to practice. just remember where each screw came from. and if you dont know what to look for just look for places that have a charred/burnt look to them.

Were the gains set too high when you first broke them in or something? It really just sounds like you fried something, again, likely a voice coil... Or, hell, sometimes you just get bad equipment and there's nothing you can do to prevent a disaster.

like people are saying, if it's smoke coming from inside the box, the voice coils are burning up.
