I'll attach some pictures to show what I am referring to, but this molding has been growing worse and worse, presumably due to direct contact with the sun, but perhaps other issues are present. Is this a part I can order and somehow replace? Or would I need to just find a door at a scrapyard with this intact and swap them?

2000 Monte Carlo SS, just in case that makes a difference in finding the correct sized molding.

 

That's attached to the door if I'm not mistaken... or at least that's how it is on my 94 Cutlass. You could try going to the junkyard and try searching for it there.

Also, I don't think it's window molding. I think it's supposed to be to tuck the panel in. Doesn't seem to touch the window at all...

 

The item does come off, it is held on by 4 screws. A junk yard would be a good place to scab one from.

Mine too just split /cracked & right before a show. I've wiped out practically every yard near me. Been searching eBay all time

 

I too am having this same issue. Also the outside of the window (molding/ paneling , what-ya-ma-call-it) is rotting away from sun I think. It seems there are no MFG building these parts. Correct me if I'm wrong.I wonder if a very talented upholsterer could cover it? Any ideas?

 

I have not hit the yards in a while, but I still have this on my watch list for you. Unfortunately, I can never find them intact
