rear deck

Default rear deck

How do I get to the speakers in the rear deck?

pull the back seats down, those 2 bolts you see loosen them or take them out. then push up on the carpet on the rear deck or grab it anyway you can and remove it. its best if you pull it straight towards you after you get the backside of it above the headrest. also dont forget to remove the seatbelts from inside it. then after its removed. theres a piece of insulation, remove that and there are your speakers.

to reinstall just reverse what i said but make sure the carpet is in the track properly

Does this also apply to a 95 Monte Carlo with 60/40 fold down seats? I got as far as taking out the bottom seat cushion and removing the bottom bolts for the seat backs but I still can't get the upper backrest to come off to gain access to the rear deck and I don't see any bolts to loosen.

So it seems all I have to do now is bend the 2 metal tabs from the trunk.
