Audio/Video Build: Problems with after market stereo
I put a pioneer deh-s4120bt in my 2002 Monte Carlo SS in December last yr. Hooked up a 3000 watt amp and subs. Everything worked great until this past week when my area got hit hard with rain. Had to drive thru a flash flood spot and now the stereo doesnt turn on at all. I checked the fuse in the stereo and in the fuse box under radio and accessories and no fuse has been blown in any of the circuits. What do I do to get it running again?
Time to break out the multimeter.
Check to make sure its got constant and switched 12 volts at the back of the radio. Then check for ground continuity.
If its got both powers and ground at the radio, I'd unhook your amp trigger and RCAs and try to turn it on again. If that doesn't work, then I'd also disconnect all 4 speakers. If it still won't turn on, the radio is bad internally.
