You should be able to connect the wire straight to the battery. How exactly does the positive lead get in the way?

it isnt the lead that gets in the way, its the battery cable attached to the lead that gets in the way... Do you think 1000 watts would draw too much power from the auxillary port?

Remove the rubber surround and buy a post extender at your local autoshop. This allows your wiring to look like this: nut|ampwire|post|positive vehicle lead|battery.

1000 watts is way too much from the auxiliary post.

I would buy the bolt extension above and then you'll be fine.

I have a little over 4000 watts connected to my auxillary post.
and I have no issues... its been like that for over 13 yrs....

So I dont believe you should have any issues as long as you do it properly...

But then again my whole system was instahled by MTX techs....
and I dont need to use an amplifier....

ck my garage of the instahled amps....

I was thinking the fuse... sorry, mines actually on my AUX post also.

Not the correct way to do it, but I didn't have enough wire at the time, so it will be getting redone with 1/0 soon.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news brotha but you don't have anywhere near 4000 watts in your system. Your MTX Thunder 4200x is a 4ch amp that does at most 55 watts rms x 4 @ 4ohms when given 14.4v. Your other amp is hard to tell what model it is but I can assure you it's nowhere near 3800 watts. I'd be surprised if it was 600 watts judging from how small it is so your whole system is more like 800 watts rms at best. 4000 watts is pretty serious, you'd need a high output alternator, another battery or two in the trunk, and much larger power wire than you've got now that's for sure.

As for MTX techs installing your system....from what I can see they didn't do a very good job. They've got the wiring looking like a rats nest and all the rca's/power/ground/speakers wires are all run sloppily together as if that's how it's supposed to be done

And you do need to use an amplifier, you have two of them matter of fact.
