Ok Im putting a new (30k I think youd agree that qualifies as new lol) engine in my 00 ss. Its the supercharged v6 3800 but I would really like the ACTUALL MILES OF THE NEW ENGINE TO REFLECT IN THE ODOMETER.... Is that possible...?

 

Talk to your local dealership, I'm not sure if it is possible without buying a whole new cluster. Good Luck!

 

sometimes you can also talk to a local mechanic. and see if they can reprogram it.
but our dashes are eletric and it is not like the old days where you could take some tools and or someoen that knew how to do it and ask them to do it.

But most of the time they will not allow you to change the miles due to the body of the car still haing the 30,000 on it etc... BUT you can also sometimes get it recertifyed and say the Odomitor has been changed and then they will put a sticker on the car someplace that shows the miles before this and then it is legal becuse it reflects that the miles ont eh car and the body are addedtogeather fo rthe actual miles total.

thing is just becuse you change the Alt. dont mean you get a new motor. so becuse you change the motor dont mean the car is new and this is thier stance on it.
if you buy a car that has 20miles on the clock but in reality it actually has 30020,000 on it makes a big diffrence how the suspention etc.. reacts to diffrent thigns.

i have been searching for an engine like that for a long time!!! and its hard to find one where i am, most of the engines available come out of totalled cars, and they are F**ked up! i was thinking of just saving my money and buying a turbo.

 

i wanted the turbo for mine also after looking in to the cost of a S.C. and also due to everyone wanting the s/c figured the turbo would be a fun change of pase for folks to hear lol that an di think it would be really funny to hear the waste gate go off in a Monte when they look it wont be a SRT-4
