Hello Ive just recently bought a 01' Monte Carlo and I want to increase it HP to at least 450HP, money is not an issue to me. So if any one has any idea of Mods that is great please reply.

If you have a awesome Monte Carlo, put your specs and Mods to it.

If you guys would be so kind, you can tell me what Im missing and the brand name and URL of the mods you think is great to have becuase I need to achieve around 400-450HP If possible.

Also How do you run a HP test?

 

If money is no issue, buy a Ferrarri. Or if you have to have a Chevy, get a Z-06 Corvette. It is a waste of time, energy, and money to try to get 450 HP out of a V-6. And then there is the transmission issue, the unibody to worry about, etc.....

BTW, if money is no issue, why did you buy a fairly cheap used car? Just wondering....

 

3800 performance.com has a turbo kit for the 3.8 that on a factory 3.8V6 will give you 280 horse and 300lbs of torque to the wheels. Hope this helps here the link below.

And to do a HP test you get your car dynoed. Search your area for the closet dyno shop, should be one somewhere near you.

there are plenty of 3800 runing 12's and some in the 9's and 10's
the best way sofar is turbo!

some are doing a SC and Turbo. but there is also a kit to throw an M90 Super charger on your 3800.
http://mymonte.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=13653 heavy over at mymonte.com is doing this upgrade. i would recomend doing a SC cause you already spent $$$ on exhaust and it would be sad to see you have to get a whole new exhaust system for a turbo.

i also regret seeing that you got the power programer. the DHP power tuner is the most specific tuner for our cars. but the PP should give you a good hand tuning for all that new power.

as for trany's the stock 4t65e you have is able to accept parts from the 4t65HD trany from the GTP and with other custom parts can be near bullet proof! i just saw over at clubGP that they are using a 4t65 with a FWD LS1 YES a LS1 FWD Grand Prix!

I think ZZPerformance is the place to go for your mods if you want relyable power.

 

i think you shoul trade it in and get the new monte carlo that beter because first of all it is a v8 (no v6 is an ss. my opinion)and also it is rwd much beter

 

The Monte SS's of today are much faster than your stock 85 SS, not to mention that CMC's Monte is pushing 400HP, oh by the way, it's also a V6.

I am not too sure about the other years but I just read somewhere of a 06' SS running around 13.9 in the 1/4 with light mods. Intake and muffler upgrades.

A 2002 - 2004 3.8L NA SS runs high 15's to low 16's
