Ok Justin Knight..just throwing this out there, the size of the sub isnt what really matters...its the design of the enclosure. If you put your one 10'' alpine in your ported or sealed enclosure up againt my 8'' in its high output design, mine will take it. Here is proof. For all non-believers check out this video. Look how hard the one 8'' sub thumps in a high output box..

Indeed you are right, everyone's ears are different, just like everyone's vision..But you have to admit, that JL 8'' in that video bangs like hell :-)

LOL. If one w7 off of 1000watts rms is killin' people with 6 subs in their car then those people with the 6 subs have no clue what they're doing. So that would be pretty much like you bragging that you beat a Corvette Z06 with your Monte but leaving out the fact that the driver of the Vette was blindfolded and missing her right leg.

Let me point out some things to you......

#1 You aren't giving your sub anywhere near the power the sub in the video is getting. His amp is giving that sub 750 watts rms, yours is only getting 250 watts rms.

#2 You have no idea about his box and are clearly unqualified to discredit it's design and how it rates compared to yours.

#3 That video is of neither your car or his, so how exactly is that proof that your car will be louder/sound better than his?

#4 I've seen, and can post the video, of a Sundown SA-8 burping a 150.2, so let's subtract a few db and say that it'll do high 140's on music! All that noise is coming from a sub that's currently on pre-sale for $75 and will likely retail for somewhere around $120.

It's gettin' it, indeed, but yours doesn't get it like that I can assure you.

 

I don't care what people like, or what sounds good to them, it's the misrepresentation and ignorance that bothers me. So if someone is going to come in here and say how his 8" sub on 250 watts rms sounds like 2 10's then he will get called out on it cause I know someone hitting low 150's with 2 10's....this guys 8 on 250rms sounds like that? Guaranteed NOT!

If you're gonna compare a single 8 on 250rms to a trunk filled to the brim with 15's, in regards to SQ, how ridiculous is that?

 

04Monte I like you guy, i really do..granted I never heard the 10s that you heard that hit 150. Who knows, the guy's who 10s I heard may have had a ****ty install. he was just a regular guy, not in any competitions or anything. But I can say with certainty that my set up sounded better than his. Im not implying at all that my 8'' sounds better than every pair of 10s on the planet...Either which way, I love how my system sounds so Im gonna drive my Monte with a smile on my face..
