It took me 2 years to decide on whichI wanted and I ended up with2 rockford 10's in a ported box in mine.Because of thevariety of music I listen to (country, rap, classical) it works for me. The ported allows for a better range of frequencies. I also got the idiot **** installed so I can turn it down around the cops.

 

turn it down around the cops!! lol...i never turned down my stereo around the cops! lol...i usually turned it up!! lol

they never bothered me anyway.. and my car was insanely loud..i had 2 apline type r 12's in a ported alpine box with a 1600 rms mono block amp....loved it!! wish i could have that back...but wouldn't be very good with a little one..lol

Monte_04, Ask your service mgr. at your Chevy dealer how to disable your theftlock. He can tell you for sure. I believe it's punching in the right combination of preset buttons, but I might be wrong.

Thanks ill check on that. and i think that "idiot ****" is a remote for the amp to turn the bass up or down.

 

yup, its a little box that plugs into your amp that has a little round dial on it..and you can turn your subs up or down with it...a lot of decks have this option in them...but its a little quicker to adjust it with this box so you dont go in through the menu on your deck

 

i have the same hook up for my amp.

 

to give ya a idea i have 2- 12" alpine subs in a obicon box that is sealed in my car, It is real good sound but out side the car you dont hear it as loud as if you are in the car. but i also have them firing forrward for the same reason , I want to hear the sound and feel that subs not hear the subs to the point of over powering the rest of the mids and highs. But i wanted a consert hall sound real clear and real crisp in my car. i listen to everything from rap to old time rock and even country once in a while (normally when the wife and ruggies are in the car)

Also as far a shaving a loud system in the car while the kids are in there
Whizz my kids hated it when moms car didnt have anything in it. Now she has 2 10" subs in it (can remeber what they are off hand) in a ported box. She drives a 05 neon SXT but they can handel riding in it now. but left up to them witch car to take it is mine :-)
might have something to do with the fact they can watch DVD/ Soon TV in the car to LOL
but they loved the base in my car. it would also help put them to sleep when cranky when they were younger.

just turn it down some instaed of blowing out the windows with them in it LOL
