got it installed today its a Panasonic 8303u

did u have trouble wireing the new head unit to the factory amp?
what harness did u use? the GMRC-01?

im in the process of installin a new radio and i want to know as much as possible before ripping in to the dash...

Nice!!!

Does it sound better? I want to do something with mine but I think I want to keep the factory head unit. It has the CD & tape deck option and I think it sounds pretty good.

i thought my stock one sounded pretty good also but putting this one in made a big differnce and this one plays mp3 disk so i dont have to keep so many disk in my car
on mp3 disk replaced about 10 of my others

I am a stereo NOOB, did it affect any of the steering controls? Did you replace any of your speakers??

it diddnt affect anything in my car aside from losing the use of the buttons on the steering wheel that are for the radio and the chime i just replaced the speakers with a set of sonys

you can get a peripherals peswix steering wheel interface so the controls will work again. That is if your head unit has a remote.

Does it really need a remote to have the steering controls work? As far as I understand, there are extra modules that you put inline with the wiring harness that allow retention of use of steering wheel controls/chime and Onstar, no?

mine has a inferred eye that shoots to the stereo. Go to pie.net see what they have or discountcarstereo.com
