i have a 2000 monte carlo SS and i need to run a 12v line from somewhere and i was wondering where is a good spot. my initial thought was to run it from the auxiliary power fuse but idk.

 

What are you going to be powering with the 12V line?

 

If it's something small like a radar detector or less I would do the ACC fuse... if it's an amp cable, run it straight to the battery.

 

its a megaphone with a max draw of 4.4A peak.

 

Is this a hand held megaphone or a loudspeaker you're going to mount underhood? If it's hand held why not wire a plug to it and power it through the cig lighter/access power jack when needed? If it's an underhood loudspeaker I'd wire it to the aux lug by the battery through a fuse.

 

Didnt CB radios have those to?

Id hook it right to the aux in the fuse box...

Whats the purpose of the megaphone?

 

the megaphone was handheld but i modified it so now its underhood. the purpose is to **** with people btw. ill mount it to the aux lug.

 

i would say the power drop under the glove box i have that powering my 2 10's 800watt amp with a frame ground of course
