Kinda Stumped (no pun intended)
This is a new issue that just poped up on my 1999 MonteCarlo Z-34.
Just had the oil changed last month. I have maybe 600 miles on this oil change...Like always..I reset the the Oil Change idiot light....
Everything has been normal, Til the other day when I noticed when I first start the car The change oil light stays on for a cpl miles....and then shuts of....Un like the normal after you first start it up......and the all idiot lights remain off.....
With a 160,00 + miles on it...Im curious as to why its doing this...And is there something that says I should be concerned about? Meaning..Is this an indicator that somethings about to go horribly wrong?...
Has anyone else had this happen..and what was the resolve?
Thanks for any and all input...

I never considered even checking the level or to see if its low etc.
Ive been useing the same place for over 10 yrs now at the local Penzoil Oil change Shop. I know all the guys there as well as the owner.and they all know my vehicles when I come in...I do change the oil and filters every 3 months 3000 miles. On all my Vehicles(which ever comes first) and since it is a high mileage vehicle..I also use Lucas motor oil treatment for high mileage vehicles.
I use penzoil sae 5w30....Which is what I have been useing in it since I bought the car Brand new....in 1999...
Since the Mrs is driveing it now....(shes at work now). I will have to dbl check it (oil level etc..)when I return home from the Meet and Greet. She should be home by the time I get Back...
Thanks again Mike!

I've had that happen to me a couple times. It will come on a for a few minutes and then disappear. Then I might not see it happen till a few more thousand miles down the road. I haven't worried too much about it. Maybe the sensor just got a bad reading, or the car wasn't warmed up enough and it wasn't getting an accurate sense.
