Question Instrument Lights 03 SS

So, yet another question for the experts.
Can you replace instrument lights without taking the dash apart? My Tach light is out and I figured if it isn't that big of project I might go to the blacklight type bulbs and replace them all. If I have to take the dash apart I can live with the light out

Gotta take the dash out, and the instrument panel out, open it up and solder the lights.

It's really not tough to rip the dash apart. I can probably do it in 5 minutes these days.

But the soldering is another story. Some people replace the bulbs with LEDs (and a resistor).

My heater control bulbs went out on my 05SS - I thought there was a thread floating around here on what bulbs to buy - my fiance fixed it. My radio controls also went out, but I sent my radio out to get that fixed.

This explains a lot about the LED upgrade process:

So, does somebody make a pre-assembled board you can just stick in to replace the old one?

Not that I'm aware of, plus, the cluster holds your odometer reading and needs programmed to swap the board.
Your options are swapping the blown bulbs yourself or find someone handy with a soldiering iron. BBEngineer used to offer those services, but he since closed up shop

Only other option is see if a dealer can get a new factory replacement cluster.

After many headaches over this no dash lights or tail, reading forum after forum. IF You Installed A Aftermarket Stereo and lost your lights go back and cut the orange/white stripe wire that was labeled dimmer on the new head unit and check to replace the 15 amp fuse in the fuse compartment on the passenger side of dash.. 03 MC SS
