how the hell do you take out the map light bulb??
how do you take them out any tip or advice? i tried every methods i know of, but have hard time getting that sucker out. i tried using the fuse puller, but that didn't work cause there's no room to grab it. i thought about using needle nose plier but afraid i might break the bulb. anybody know an easier way to to take it out?
it takes more force than you think! i had to use some smallish curved needle nose pliers to grab the bulb by it's base and kinda pry it out like a nail. it popped out fairly easy that way. pain in the a$$ though.
in the mirror? use a flat head screw driver and pry it from the top and it will pop out, do it over something soft tho because it comes out fast sometimes, it does work tho
IDK why everyone is using pliers and such, are my fingers that much smaller than yours that I can just reach in with my thumb / index pinch the bulb and pull it out?
I couldn't fit my fingers in there. I'm not sure what the tool is called, but I used neddle nose with the point basically chopped off, so it was flat. Got a grip on the bulb, pulled it out. It's a pain, scrated the chrome a little but, but no big deal.
Howdy! I was spending the better part of 2 hours trying to replace the map light bulbs on my '05 Monte Carlo! After some trial and error, I found that using zipties was a really easy way to remove them without using a dedicated tool or some sketchy pliers. I hope this technique helps someone else! (This is my first post on here, be easy on me!)
Push the ziptie back so that its hugging the bulb near the base
Tighten it with a finger as well as you can and then wiggle it back and forth, pulling away from the bulb base. It should eventually come out, granted you give it some elbow grease!
