how to fix broken rear defroster tabs?

My dads Monte has that problem too but he doesn't have tinted windows. Must be a very common fail point on these cars.

yeah Probably just cheaply made.

i tried the permatex kit it sucked . tab fell off after "curing " for 24 hours.

I tried the Permatex kit and it worked fine. It's got to be cleaned and cleaned some more 1st.

I JUST bought the kit, $12.99 at O'Rielys Hope it works.. Has anyone "resoldered" it back on without cracking the window ? Maybe that's what needs to be done .... I'm hoping for 12 bucks !

I was told by a glass shop that the Permatex kit was the ONLY way that it can be fixed. They also said it's not a guaranteed thing either.

I resoldered mine on without any problems. Worked great after that

That's what I WANT to do, just resoldered it , but I'm concerned about the rear window cracking.... I think I'm gonna give it a shot, worst possible thing is the window shatters... Lol...


Well, I'll let you either know if it works, or how much a rear window is going for these days...lol...

Does anyone know if you can remove the clip from the rear defroster connector 2004 SS
