How To: Change the LED color on your Head Unit
Bad news
My HU stopped working this weekend. I was driving home and all of the sudden my HU started flashing on and off steadily. All of the lights on the display would flash on and off, and it wouldn't stay on long enough to play anything. The weird thing was that if I pushed and held certain buttons on the display, I could get it to stay on but as soon as I let go the lights would start flashing and the HU would be unusable. I decided I would try resetting the unit, and after I had pushed the reset button and reattached the face plate there response from the unit at all. Only the Power LED stays on, but it has no reaction when pushed. It seems dead
I opened it up and found two fried LEDs that I had replaced. I have no idea to go about diagnosing the problem, or even if it is fixable.. any suggestions? If not it might be new HU time.

Good news! I investigated a little more my HU problem. Apparently I had accidentally shorted two resistors near one of those push button switches. I heated each contact up with my soldering iron hoping to get rid of the short where ever it was exactly. I guess I was able to stop the short because the display works again! I'm not sure if it's a permanent fix or if there was some damage done, but I'm happy for now to have a working stereo again. And it's looking pretty sweet with the blue LEDs
