Hey there. You did not have to take apart the dash. It is just clips on the surround aroud the head unit and a/c guages. I just got the DVD player in mine two days ago and The clips are very tight. I used a small flathead and pried up right where the clips are at. There are three on each side. Hope this helps.

Red06SS is exactly right. Allthough I didn't see his message until I had already figgured it out. Ok, as above the head unit and hvac controls are all surrounded by this plastic trim piece. They sell tools, but if you're careful you can use something similar to a screwdriver to basically pry this thing out of it's place. And red06SS isn't kidding, that sunofa-b is TIGHT. While prying mine off I ended up putting some creases in the trim piece. But now that I know how to take it off it should be easy to paint it sometime. Once the trim is off, there is 6 screws, 3 on either side. Two hold the head unit on either side, and one on either side for the HVAC controls. The HVAC buttons/control unit has tabs that hold in the stereo, so you have to remove these first. Once it's off, the stereo is a piece of cake, 4 screws, a little tuggin, and it comes right out. Unplug one plug, and inline wire my LOC and Walla! Simple as pie (sorta). Now I have to test it to make sure the outputs are working good. Then wire up my sub and I'm done.

I'll put together a write up, because I learned a helluva lot about the dam car in this process. Hopefully the next newbie schmuck won't go through all the frustrations I went through! lol

Thanks rrobert05! Yeah, I got it figgured out. I finally found a website showing how to install some Sattelite radio unit with their mounting bracket, and found that you just need to pry off that trim ring thing. Once I got the trim ring off it was just those 6 bolts, 2 for the hvac controls and 4 for the radio. The only thing is the clips were so dang tight that I put a crease in the trim piece trying to pull it off. my only advise is start from the top! I used a plastic putty knife that I cut down to a point so that I wouldn't scratch anything up. That worked well, probably as good as the 15$ "nylon tool" they sell to pry off the trim piece. Not bad for a 25 cent putty knife, lol.
