I have a 2001 Monte Carlo, the sound just stopped working. It started by going in and out for awhile then suddently stopped working all together. Everything else works like putting in a cd, tracks its on, radio, time. I am not very good with cars but can follow instructions pretty well. Help! I miss my music!

I aswell have been battleing this same issue and have not found the solution to mine but Previous owner had a aftermarket system in there so who knows what they could have messed up,

One thing you can easily check pulling the bezel off and pulling the radio and checking the conections on the back,

I had the same problem. Turns out the ground wire was kaput. I wouldn't know if that might fix your problem, but it's a 20 dollar replacement if you take it to a shop. And a much better alternative to buying a new stereo.. unless you want one.
