Default gauge lights

one of the lights in my speedometer burnt out recently, and at night it is annoying seeing the 0-35 barely lit from the surrounding bulbs. What size bulbs are required? And if I throw in LEDs, how many resistors. I figure if I change one, might as well change them all, and maybe spruce it up with a new color like green or something.

I never did my guag pod on the monte i just changed the faces to speed hut.com overlays.
So they had the indaglow light in them.

But i have done a few CAvaliers, sunfires, even a camaro and a impala or two.

If you can do it and figure out what wire it is that controlls the dash lights in the plug you can put one (1) res. in line to lower the power enough to protect the LEDs in the pod.

IF you can not. i had to do it in another car.
But i just would take the positinve lead and soldier out the res. with cuttign as much off as i could of the leads. then i would bend the postive out so that it would not touch anythign and soldier the res. to the bord instead of the leg of the LED

you cna pretty much get away with any color if you want them. you can even get the 7 color light changing LEDs to put in the dash and then it will allow them to change colors all the time so they have a diffrent color every so many sec.

7 color sounds interesting, but may be too distracting. Great post though, helped a lot so far!

lol that was how i felt with the 7 color also. thsi is why i chose to do them in one color.
they really do look nice when done and you will not belive the response ya get from them from other monte owners if you do not use a "normal" color in them
