Unhappy Flasher issues

I have an 05 monte carlo ls that has a turn signal/flasher issue. My turn signals work when my car is in park, but when I put it into gear, the emer. flashers and turn signals stop working. I replace the flasher switch and still no luck. Anyone else run into this problem?

This sounds very strange. First time I have heard of this topic. I know the turn signals and the 4-ways all get controlled via that flasher module/hazard button. This is implying GM changes the circuit based on what gear the car is in, which strikes me as very strange. Was anything changed in the car? Stereo equipment? Anything at the time this issue began?

I replaced the stereo with an Alpine system 3 years ago. Started diagnosing the fuse-box yesterday as my cig lighter also does not work. No power going to fuse panel on drivers side panel. Will go over wiring diagram later today

So I took the car to my local shop and they found a corroded ground inside the dash. Re-did the ground wire and eveythimg works as it should.
