Default Factory GM Radio Harness Question

I have purchased the Scosche Gm06b T-harnessfor my new dvd head unit. It is very simple to install but I have read a multiple of threads and it was told to place the factory head unit in the trunk. Now, how do I do that? Where would I put it? What adapters are needs so I can have a clean installation without NO PROBLEMS? If any one could help, I will gladly appreciate it.

Thanks

P.S.
Hell, if needed, I will take photos so my questions can be visually be answered as well.

do a serch on here abotu factory head units. there is a thread here that answers exactly what you want to know.

But just fo rthe record you do not have to have the factory head unit in the car unless you want it in there.
I have a after market head unit in mine and it is also DVD and i have no factory head unit in the car at all.

hahaha here we go again mickey!

ok mickey is right you don't need your factory head unit to retain your door chimes, message center and such other things. you get a peripheral that will act as the factory head unit and allows you to put in an aftermarket head unit. but in case you want to keep the factory head unit, you can relocate it to your trunk. just find some brackets and you can mount it. below i posted a picture from RocknSS04's photo bucket. if i was to relocate my stock head unit i may do it like one of the two pictures below.
