yup, got a new pair of Kenwood, 6/5's in my 01 SS

 

That's what I put in my '02. Kenwoood Excellon.. nice sound

 

my 02 monte with the upgraded spkr. system had 6.5 component system. I installed 6.5 infinity reference component spkrs.used the factory mount plate bolted right in. I did add a 100 watt per channel amp and the sound is way better than stock.

yo man imma installer for best buy and you have 6 1/2 speakers in tha front and 6x9's in tha bacc....not 6 1/2 componet's or 5 1/4's just a regular 6 1/2 speaker. you can put a componet system in there and it would sound a lot better but thats just my opinion.

 

i have a 2002 monte LS andi work at best buy butim sure the doors arn't too different i have 6 1/2 coaxals up front and 6x9s in rear, i recomend alpine type Rs or Ss i have those in my car and even with the stock speaker and an aftermarket alpine deck the system sounds amzing to me...even better to get a after market 4 channel amp...good sounding....by the way does anyone know the stock wattage of the speaker amp in the '02?

 

they are 6.5" but the tweeter above it will not fit any aftermarket tweeter but the speaker is a 6.5" trust me i just replaced them in mine
