Default RADIO NOISE SURPRESSOR

I HAVE A 2000 MONTE CARLO SS 3.8 AND I JUST INSTALLED A ALPINE RADIO AND 600 WATT 4 CHANNEL AMP AND CHANGED ALL MY SPEAKERS. I HEAR THE WHINNING FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY KNEW WHAT KIND OF RADIO NOISE SUPRESSOR I NEED AND HOW AND WHERE I WOULD INSTALL IT PICTURES WOULD BE HELPFUL IF POSSIBLE.

So you actually hear this whining, in the car, through the speakers? ?

That is strange, what type of wiring harness did you use?

I can send you some pics....... I just installed my double din touchscreen and I am very familiar with stereo wiring

well just right off hand i have this pic of the wiring harness that is needed for everything to work right....

you have to have this type of harness (it may work at first with the cheap harness but things in car's comp system will go haywire, the gauges wont even work sometimes) So You need this harness ..

the reason that you need this harness is that it has the Data Bus Interface in it.....any car 2000 and up will most likely need this type of wiring harness

I'll post a pic of the new head unit just for show

I'll see if i have more pics of my dash ripped out...

You got any pics or maybe a better description of whats going on/what pics you need....thanks

I was told it could be the spark plugs wires.... cause mine does the same.. if you want something that will quiet the whine down go to radio shack and get ground loop isolators for your rca's and it should do the trick.. if not it will quiet it down alot... there 15 bucks a pop here..

What youneed todo is buy a GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR. Its a small box with RCA cables at either end hook it in line with the rca cables going into the amp. Their are many companys that make them just buy a decent brand should solve your problem. By the way you may need one for each set of rca cables, on a recent install I had I only needed one and it was good "hope this helps"

My old car had that issue. It was the RCA cable doing it. Might help if you buy anew RCA like stinger or monster cable. It is caused by bad wire in the rca. Your RCA might have a cut in it and if so it is grounding out.

when i first installed my head unit i had factory speakers but i had an amp hooked up to a sub.
but now i hava a second amp hooked up power the speakers for the door and rear and i hear a noise in the front not sure if its in the the front speakers or the head unit or even somewhere in the dash its just in that area. but it only does this in drive and the car in moveing but if i rev the engine in park it does not do it. when the head unit is off it completly stops.
