Why is it, everytime I ask ANYONE what speakers are in the doors, I get a different answer!!!! ?????

I've heard it all, 6 1/2 co-ax, 6 1/2 component, 5 1/4 co-ax, 5 1/4 component. I've also heard that there may be a 6 3/4 speaker. Hell, my car install guy says he thought that there was a 4x6" in the door (we gotta million dollar bet on this. HE made the bet! lol).

So what is it? I don't want to buy the wrong speaker and get home to install and find I gotta go back an hour to replace em. Did that with a Grand Prix a couple years ago.

im pretty sure there 6" thas it with tweeters..then you have your 6"x9" speakers in your back...

 

The front speaker is a 6" component with a seperate tweeter mounted above it. However, most 6.5" component systems will fit with very minimal modifications, if any. For my set I just had to dremel down some of the platsic on the stock speaker mounting rings.

And like K Johnston said above, the back speakers are 6x9's.

 

so that means I win!! At least a free install or sumtin!! lol I thought it was 6 1/2..

And yea.. i knew the 6x9s in the back.. i was starin at 'em today while I was tearin my truck apart for the sound deadening..

 

crutchfield reports 61\2, I've heard 6 3\4,for the doors and 6X9s in the back

It shows the Monte Carlo 00-05 to contain a 5 1/4" door speaker

So I raise the question once again!!!!?? Has anyone actually installed an aftermarket speaker in the door of a 2002-2005 monte carlo???

I've installed 3 sets now.
My '01 SS LE had 4-way Pioneer 6 1/2" installed, along with this '04 Intimidator SS. I JUST removed the Pioneers and put in JL Audio TR 650-CSI components speakers. They are also 6 1/2" speakers, but also come with seperate tweeters.
I guess I can't say what came out, as they are stashed in storage, but 6 1/2" is what you SHOULD be putting in.
