Default Change Engine Oil Light comes on

I have a 2002 monte SS and I changed the radio to an aftermarket one and the guy who installed it said that he put in a device so I dont get this idiot lights because the only way to reset them is thru the original radio. Now the change oil light is on and i changed the oil a month ago. How do I get rid of it??
Thanks.

the same works for the low tire pressure except you turn you lights on and off 3 times.....not that that applies here!!!

it seems like all the things that you can reset on the car you do something 3 times

Thank you sooo much. I was ready to go back to him, and you saved me some money. I appreciate it.

Some people like to mount the old radio into the trunk so they can still access all of the controls that you can't reset without the radio, or put in a quick release cable that they can plug the radio in when it's needed. IDK if you want to think about that or not...

Ya, I got one. It's called a remote mount cable. Only about $35. Chances are you can't make that work unless you have a complete rewire of your system. If the deck is using your original harness connector, like most aftermarket decks use, this won't work for you.
You're looking for a setup like this:

Also if your car does not start, turn the key to the on position, hit the engine *3 times* with a high impact hammer.

Works everytime.
