I have an 2001 monte carlo SS. Lately I have been having some issues that kind of point to the BCM going bad or failing. Headlights not working sometime, radio cutting in and out, and sometimes it doesn't start up and I have to wait 10 minutes. Well anyway, I was at the junkyard and came across a 2004 monte carlo ls and it was striped but it did have the BCM left. Will this 2004 BCM work in my 2001 monte? Will I need to have it reprogrammed to work in my monte? Lastly, if I remove my old bcm and try the new one, will the old one still work with my car if I have to put it back in? Any information will be helpful.

If you install a used BCM, the car will not start....
