no offense taken 04MonteLS that's why I'm here so i can learn or get tips from the Pros I actually found the specs to my subs the are KICKER CVRs 10" my Q about the air space was because I want to build a box that will allow me to keep as much space in my trunk as possible I found some info on their site it says that the Min is .8 ft3 (22.7L) Power Handling = 400W RMS and
the Max is 3 ft3 (85L) Power Handling = 300W RMS is assume that is per sub and i want to build a box with two of them in it?

 

How much power are you going to be giving your subs?

 

well like i said i have a 4 chnl amp 1200 watts running 2 fronts 2 rears 2 tweeters and 2 subs with factory head unit

correct me of im wrong, but you will either need a 5 channel amp, or another amp to power your subs. I have 2 kicker L7 10s with a 1000 watt rockford fosgate amp pushing them at 2 ohms. i have my factory amp still powering my infinity kappa 6x9s and components. i have a rockford fosgate p400.4 for the 6x9s and components but i have yet to install it. i also have factory deck. theres a harness made by metra model number 70-2021 you will need to bypass the amp with it and so you dont cut up your factory wiring. you just cut the harness in half (its a loop) and connect the output wires to your output converter and from there u run RCA's to your amp inputs. and the remaining wires that are left from the harness you run to your 4 channels on the amp. and if you are lucky enough to have and amp with RCA ouputs, you run those to your subwoofers. here are some links

Im sorry, let me correct myself a little bit. if your 4 channel amp has RCA ouputs you will run those to your subwoofer amp. or vice versa, some sub amps have RCA outputs and 4 channels dont. if you dont then you are better off getting a deck that has 6 channel outputs of RCAs. 2 for front, 2 for rear, and 2 for subs. thats why I havent installed my 2nd amp yet, im waiting to get a dvd/gps 2 din deck with multiple RCA outputs. I have my L7s pounding bass and my factory amp pushes my infinity kappas pretty decent. i have to turn the amp down or it will drown out the other speakers, but its still very loud.

 

Im assuming you have a factory amp? if so, replace the door and rear speakers and keep the factory amp. then hook up your amp to your subs and bridge the amp. good to go

replace the speakers first, you might be surprised in the difference in sound, in this monte there are already spots for tweets too, so you can put in a comp set, and the doors are PLENTY bige nough to hide to cross over in somwhere. in fact, for this amp, it wants 2 ohms, these speakers are very nice, i would highly recoommend these

RE is good stuff, there rated pretty high but i'm sure they'll still sound very nice with that stock amp, and if you don't like them on that amp, there 2 ohm's so they'll run much more power than any other 4 ohm speakers

 

OK sounds like you should do what i first suggested then. get a 5 channel amp or another amp to power your subs. since you already have a 4 channel, id just go ahead and drop a few more bucks on a mono amp. have the 4 channel run your components and 6x9s and the the mono power the subs. but i would try the stock amp with your aftermarket speakers first and see how they sound. my infinity kappa components and 6x9s at 2ohms sound real crisp...but like you i want it louder. when i get some time soon i will install my other amp.
