Aftermarket door speakers

Aftermarket door speakers
I have an aftermarket stereo already with a Rockford Fosgate PRIME R1000-D running 2 RF P3D2 12 subwoofers. 1000 watts at 1 channel 2 ohms on amp and the subs are 1200w peak,600 RMS.
I drive a 2004 monte carlo LS.
My front passenger door speaker is blown and its really bothering me, lol. i have experience installing subs and amp but have never replaced the speakers. my question is how would I go about replacing the door speakers?
Do i need a seperate amp for the speakers? Whats a good pair of affordable, reliable front speakers for these cars, and what size amp would I need for them. Could i just replacement stock speakers somewhere? I'm not looking for anything fancy, obviously my subs take care of the bass. so essentially, I dont even know if i want to go the route of getting improved aftermarket speakers that require amp power....unless its very simple lol and relatively cheap.

So what head unit do you have now? Not the factory one I would suspect. Most aftermarket head units have enough power to push 4 speakers without an additional amplifier. The sound level without an additional amplifier for the door and rear deck speakers may or may not be to your liking. You can get a pair of 6.5 inch speakers for your doors for a pittance. See link below to Rockford's off of eBay. Installing them will not be anymore difficult than removing the door panels, disconnecting the old speakers and installing new one, no need to run new wires etc. Do you still have the factory speakers in the rear deck? Have you ever been to a automobile wrecking yard? The type where they permit you to go in an remove your own parts? There typically are many newer vehicles in there and you can go to GM vehicles and pull some factory speakers from a nice car.Usually about $5.00 ea. at these places. It's a great opportunity to get in some practice removing door panels before you do yours. You can screw them up all you want and there's no penalty, lol

Rockford Fosgate P1675 6-3/4" 3-Way Power Coaxial Car Speakers
You sure those speakers in the door would be sufficiently powered from the head unit I mentioned getting earlier?
perhaps my understanding is wrong, i I thought if the speakers were 60w rms each it would take 120w rRMS head unit to power both of them. Enlighten me lol

The head unit would still power them if it only put out 25 watts per channel. The speakers would just not be performing at their full potential is all. It's always better to have speakers that can handle more power than your amp puts out, thereby reducing the risk of blowing the speakers.
I run the Rockford Fosgate Power T2652 S 6.5 speakers in my doors and the Rockford Fosgate Power T1693 6x9 on the rear deck. A couple kicker amps, Pioneer AVH4500BT head unit and a Massive Audio 10" subwoofer.

If the have an aftermarket head unit, and have installed subs and amps. You actually already have the knowledge and experience to install door and deck speakers.
If you used an adapter to install your head unit then you are still using the factory amp for your doors and deck speakers. So you will have better sound with aftermarket speaker. All you have to do is connect them to the existing wires, use female quick disconnects and remove or tap into the factory connection, mount them, and you are done. Mounting, you may have to drill new holes for the aftermarket speakers. Factory speakers never have their mounting holes in the right spot. And now you have better sounding tunes!

Watch how many electronics you install, more electronics, more battery power and worst of all youll need, another alternator, but that comes after all the biggies. Imo get a better battery if your gonna be a audio head.

well i just want to replace the speaker with one tthat's not blown. It doesn't have to be better in any way except in the fact that its not blown. Its not going to put any more strain on the batter/alternator..but yes I do agree with you it wouldn't hurt at all
