Has anyone ever removed the factory radio in a 97 Monte. All of my preset lights are out and a couple others. I found someone who had a great online photo post showing how to take the radio apart and replace the bulbs but didnt offer any hellp actually removing the radio. Seems tahts the only way to replace the bulbs. Sucks! Thanks for the help

 

Its not hard, just pop off the bezel around the gauges and radio and the radio comes out with two 7mm screws.

 

im sure matt ( mrl390) will be able to help you with this, he just finished a killer sound system in his 5th gen.

edit: see that, he beat me to it, lol.

i would like to ask, though, if you might be able to post a link to the site you found the info on changing the bulbs? my car has the same problem, and trying to change the radio station by feel at night is getting real old real quick, lol.
