Default Facgtory Radio Removal

I have heard of a security issue when removing the factory radio, any information on this?

I'm pulling mine to install a Ipod adaptor, so nothing big just do not want to hit any snags. Any tips or hints will be great.

The only security issue i can think of with our radio is the theftlock, and last i knew with that as long as you dont put another factory radio in you will be fine. I think the factory radios are connected with your VIN number and if they don't match up it will not let the radio function without the theftlock code.
I have removed my stock radio many times to either put in an AUX adapter or other stuff and never had a security problem.
