I know what its like hahah.. But I think my 15 needs more air space but it also takes up more space in the box since the magnet is like 3 times as big

these 18's are for IB only no boxes of any kind will work with them. their not designed for anything but infinite baffle.

if you ever get the chance to listen to a properly done IB sub setup in a decent system you'll never wanna use a box again. really what a box is doing be it ported or sealed, is adding retention and noise, it adds resistance to give the cone more energy sealed, and ported uses the port to create the extra energy. IB is a no frills, cone does all of its own work, which can result in the cleanest lows, also allows you to play the lowest notes cleanly, the disatvantage of ported is it adds to much noise at higher frequencys to run them very high, and it can even add noise on the lower end depending on how the box is designed and what its port is tuned to, my current sub that jbl GTI is in a ported box tuned to 33 hz. i cant play above 80 hz or I get to much distortion and noise. doesn't have a problem with to many of my very low lows, but can be a bit noisey with basey music.

yeah FI is a small company, he hand makes every sub, bit bigger of a company than AE, but AE is who i origonaly wanted to go with but he does ALL the buidling by him self, FI at least has a crew and has 2 week waits, AE has 6 month waits, he never even got back to my email for my order so i went with the FI's. i got em BNIB but they were from somebody off of DIYMA. got a pretty good price on em, 420$ for both, thats at retail price. they are 220$ a piece + shipping.

yeah i wouldnt mind hearing one. that would be cool. the idea of no box is nice. and since you have 18s they should produce quite a bit of bass lol. sure makes it easier when not having to build a box. but you do have to build some kind of a frame to hold them.

i have seen those FIs i didnt know they were IBs though. 6 week wait is a long time but he probably really stands behind his products. yeah thats a good price. anytime you can save money on this audio stuff do it. its not cheap and definitly helps to look around! im probably as excited as you see this all finished. lol
