Default 2001 Monte - blown stock Amp

Hey guys,

2001 Monte Carlo LS, all stock. It seems like the amp is shot. The stereo cuts out. Bang on the amp a few times and it will come back on. I'm trying to help out a friend here and all I would like to do is swap it out with the same unit. Can anyone tell me where I can get one, maybe a part #?

Thanks,
Kevin

Have you checked all the wires going to the AMP? there could be a connection problem.

try gmpartsdirect.com under instrument panel.

could be a bad wiring connection. I'll take a look at that and the gmpartsdirect site.

Thank you,
Kevin

its either a short in the wire (pinch, or a connection issue causes the amp to drop into protection if it has it) or the amp itself is shot. Amps though, usually work or dont.... they dont work for a minute then just die.
