Default 2000-2005 Amp Bypasses!

Hey guys, here's how to do the Amp Bypass for 2000-2002 Monte Carlos and Impalas. You only use the larger clip with the blue plastic on it: (ctrl and '+' to zoom in)

This is basically just looping back to complete the circuit that the amp would have completed. The other connection on your amp is just the power for the amp.

This diagram is for the 2003-2005 Monte Carlo and Impala Amp Bypasses. ALL wires must be connected in order for the speakers to work and to complete the circuit.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Diagram credit goes to BBEngineer, my intentions were not to remove his watermark, just make the image smaller for the convenience of the viewers.

My Monte Carlo doesn't have a amplifier at all(Removed by last owner) and I did the bypass(2003-2005), but where do the other wires in the clip that are left need to be connected to?

My '01 has some sort of jury-rigged system which doesn't sound great and I can't use the radio which looks practically new. The guy I bought it from said it was an amp problem and claimed the amp from my '04 would work in the '01. Does that sound reasonable? I really don't understand anything about sound systems.

I would make sure your wires are connected properly.

Check the rear connections under the rear deck.

I believe there were two amp options, you would have to verify the connector harnesses. I do believe 01-02 are the same, 03-05 are different.
