Default '03 Monte Flip out radio install problem

I have a Dual 7" Flip out radio and after the install when it flips out it hits the top of the dash. I tried messing with the settings to see if I can adjust it but I'm not sure I can. I can bring the radio out a little bit so it doesn't hit the dash but then you can see the radio cage (ugly). I'm wondering if anyone knows of a extended dash cover so I can hide the cage or if they have a Dual and know how to adjust the screen settings. Its a Dual XDVD9101. Thanks

i think you might be SOL. did you use the bottom of the din instead of the top? thats the only thing i can think off. besides just moving it out a little. but i agree cages look ugly..

Problem 1: Our dash has a lip so I could see this coming from a flip out for sure.
Problem 2: It's a dual stereo.

I think you would be best to pull it out, return it and buy a double din brotha.

i was gonna mention the DUAL but then i thought i would be nice. :p. your definitely better off with a double din. they fit perfect in our cars. and you can get a nice one with out BT,GPS for 300-400$ maybe cheaper if you look around for used ones

@03JGMonte: What Pioneer deck do you have? ... if I may ask ...

I just ordered a Pioneer FH-P8000BT

Pioneer FH-P8000BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

(I suppose I should start a thread on the whole audio makeover I am doing here ... )

haha im so glad you posted this before i ever tried, i was almost certain a flip out would be hard to get to work. well now i kjnow, sorry you had to learn the hard way.

if you use a cage, try and mod it so the cage sits out further.
