Default Flip up sunroof install...

I'm thinking of buying a 03 LS but want a flip up sunroof installed.Fly by night dealership said they could have it done but very leary of that.Would rather take it myself and pay to have it done. They are asking about 7,995 for it but know I can get it down.I'm paying cash. What would it cost and would it leak??I've heard that aftermarket sunroofs often have problems.I'm in the Kentuciana area so would need names of shops that are reputabale.
Any other suggestions? The mileage is about 78,000.Cloth interior.Looks well kept. How many miles can you get out of a MC.I've heard about 200,000.Is this BS or truth?I plan to have it a few yrs at least

You need to keep an eye on the fluids for that 3400 powered car. The LIM and Headgaskets are common to go, and if you let that happen and the car overheats you can warp some parts and you won't get the high mileage.

I honestly wouldn't do an aftermarket sun-roof. I don't think it's worth it for the price, or the problems that could arise.

If you pay $4000 for a sunroof, you could probably trade in your 03 and take that 4k and get an SS WITH a sunroof already.

Yes, back in the day when I would forget to turn Traction Control off, and actually thinking that manually shifting the automatic was a good idea

Darklady, I think $7,999 is a bit high for an 03 MC LS with millage that high. $6,800-$7,100 would be a great price for that car. Now, you'd do better by getting an MC SS since they already come with the sunroof and a better, more powerful engine, and you could get one the same year, or 04 even, for the same money that dealer's asking.

DEFINETLY! Save up, and get the SS... I had an LS for a while, it was nice, but it sure doesn't compare to what comes with the SS package. These engines are quite bullettproof if you take care of them. If you find an SS for around that price, you should have NO problems getting a couple of years out it. Enjoy the forum, and keep asking away... we're here to offer any assitance we can! Thanks for stopping by!

Default Thanks!!

I'll definitely get the SS then w/ sunroof.I found a yellow SS 2002 65,000 miles. They are asking about 11,000 for it.Looks like it may come w/ some kind of warranty...The blue book suggests about 9,000......what should I offer them and what should I be on the look out for???You guys are awesome!!Thanks for helping me out.
