I have the adapter installed to my car for the bose, onstar and the chimes. but once you install aftermarket amp for your speakers and use rca wires it doesnt chime anyway, thats what i wanted it for so it is kinda pointless. if you not use onstar you wont really need the adapter, if you are going to use the factory bose then it would be allot easyier to use the adapter, if not use factory bose and are useing an aftermarket amp then you do not really need the adapter. but i think the adapter has a built in route the the parking brake for moniter so you can only play video when in park so if that is what you do then maby get the adapter, but if not then maby not get it. the adapter does make an easier install at the price of a whole in wallet. just some thoughts to consider.

look in the trunk and look up underneath if you see a little box that with wires going into it then you have the bose system. sure even if its not name brand it should be better then stock even bose. if you are just addin subs do that cause then its all the less the factory ones have to work and then they can just work on the highs.

any ? just ask.

Ok. When i go in my trunk, i c a box with wires but i thought it was the onstar. I will have to go and look. Its not underneath anything, its just in the corner of the trunk. I will double check though. Thanks
