I guess I'm lucky cause it's holding up great.
The pipe is on Silver and he gets the salt big time.

Ha! Well, I want to see this post continue. I live in an aera where they salt everyday during the winter whether it's freezing or not. I too have the aluminized downpipe and it is as new as they come. I will keep an update and post here if any rust develops.

I live in los angeles, California.do I have to worry about rust?and what do you mean by salt?lol

I'd still go stainless if you plan on having it for a while, whether salt is used or not.

If you go with the aluminized downpipe a little prep work and a couple cans of high heat ceramic paint will make it last for years...probably as long as a stainless downpipe.

Ended up going stainless, don't wanna have to worry about it.

Probably not as much - your biggest issue would be splashing water onto it from the road - but it would be pretty safe. They're referring to road salt.
