since I got the zzp plog no ceramic it comes with no heat should does anyone recommend wrapping the plog to keep temps down since the heat shield from the old manifold doesn't fit

Nice engine bay just worried about temps under the hood we do everything to reduce wouldn't this just add unwanted heat with no barrier just wondering since zzp sells every little thing for reducing heat soak

Is it stainless? If so don't wrap it.

Stainless or not, I believe the recommendation is no wrapping. Zjerry, Chibi and I all have plogs, no wrap, no shield, no problems

I don't think the heat off the plog makes a big difference over stock ..
It maybe the same if measured ??? It feels the same ..

I would not wrap them, trapping the heat will only serve to make the metal more brittle and already the Plogs are prone to cracking. My friend has went through 2 sets of headers on his 5.0 mustang and it was deduced that the wrapping contributed to premature failure. Was trapping road salts and led to corrosion related failure. I have all mine ceramic coated, not a cheap process but then neither are the new Cartuning exhaust manifolds which replaced my failed Plogs
