Tips no lining up. HELP!
#25
That does sound good. The shop that installed my Borla cat-back had some problems getting my tips aligned and the passenger side one still hangs down lower than the other side. I've messed with it some and can't get it perfect so I just live with it for now.
You need to get your mufflers level in order to keep the tips off of the bumper. With the front part of the muffler lower than the rear, it's pushing the tips up into the bumper. Are you sure that all of the other rubber hangers are in place further up toward the engine? There are two O-ring type rubber hangers that are located where the cat-back bolts on to the flange after the cat. These may be broken or unhooked.
My car didn't have either one of these on when I first bought the car and I had two new ones installed but they were from the local parts store and one broke less than a year after it was installed. I bought two new ones from the dealer and had them installed when the cat-back was installed and the guy had a heck of a time getting them on.
My Borla cat-back also did not have a hanger welded on to the pipe in the stock location after the resonator and I don't know if your system came with one in the correct place or not. If this one is not attached it will let that part of the system hang down further than it should. It sounds like something is causing the front portion of the system hang down further than it should.
