taking the plunge need help
yes the exhaust is 2 1/4. i finally got my LS exhaust done recently. went with no mufflers though. ended up at 200$ with stainless steal tips and the shop made the Y pipe and everything. very satisfied with the results. the same shop wanted about 425$ to do the same thing but with mufflers.
Yeah, mine cost about $400.00 ubend delete, new O2 bung welded in, y-pipe two 90 series flows and stainless tips. Sounds really good though, want to let you guys/gals hear it as soon as I can borrow a vid cam.

If you want to go with Dynomax why not just replace the entire system?
Amazon.com: Dynomax 19363 Exhaust System: Automotive
They have a $75 rebate going so you can bring the price down to just over $300. The only welding required will be the flange to the resonator, and a hanger. You can take the car to any shop that does welding and have that done. Then go back home and install the kit.

You may want to look elsewhere for your parts. In another thread I was told that GM Parts direct is charging excessive fees for shipping to make up for their lower prices. I've ordered from them a couple of times and haven't had that problem, but I wouldn't want to see you get hit with high shipping fees.
I'm not familiar with the layout of the exhaust on your vehicle, but if you look at the pic below you should be able to figure out what you need. I would imagine you'll need 2 hangers and 2 rubber insulators for the second muffler. It may not be a bad idea to pick up new rubber insulators for the other muffler also.

Go on NAIOA.com and make an account. PM member ZSpot (he works in a GM parts department) He gives members a good deal on parts, and is fast with shipping. I use him for everything I buy from GM.
He'll even tell you if there is no mark-up on an item and it would be easier to go to your local dealership to just buy it out right. He's a great guy.
You would just need the left side hanger parts. He should let you know what you need as well.
