Default taking the plunge need help

Well i am sick of the stock single exaust on the 3.4 LS and finally want to upgrade to dual performance muffler setup. Yes it will cost a lot but iplan on doing it myself and need to know a few things.

1. Where can i get the y pipe to split the exaust
2. what is the diameters of all the piping and what size couplers will i need
3. what inner and outer diameter will i need for the actual mufflers

i dont have another car so I have to make sure everything is 100% perfect fit and finish before I start hacking away at everything. If i mess something up and have to drive around with no exaust it will draw a little too much attention. Thanks for the help fellas. Wouldn't you do the same if you only had a single exaust monte?

Ideally i would like just the y-pipe so i can hack off the stock exaust past the cat. and just clamp the y-pipe section on with a coupler. Now is the number your giving me outer diameter or inner?

What's your budget? And why do you HAVE to do this yourself?

The hardest part is going to be putting up the left-side hanger.

Really though, any local exhaust shop should be able to fab you up a complete cat-back with resonator and mufflers of your choice for around $350-$450

well the only real exaust shop around here is monroe muffler and they can suck it. They are way overpriced. i will look into it but I cant see it being that cheap. Everything in NY is *** rapeingly expensive.

Another option. Just go to a shop and have a left side hanger installed. It's a $20 part from GM, should only be a $20 install.

Then you can buy ANY W-Body cat-back and install it in your driveway.

90$ an hour is steep, maybe $90 to put it in & everything but not $90 an hour
