Default SLP cat back exhaust

I am thinkin about gettin SLP cat back exhaust for my 03 SS. Is it a good deal or not.

I want to replace the headers to the cat by SLP. will this make it sound nice or is just a waste, will it improve power or quickness

SLP is the only aftermarket exhaust to attempt to make any more power.
I don't know how it sounds, but against the other, it will make a noticeable power difference.

IMO SLP makes the worse sounding exhaust for the 3800 engine.

Alot also has to do with the catalytic converter. When I ran my Random Tech cat with my Dynomax exhaust it had a nice and throaty sound.... or at least for a 6 cyl it did. Problem was that it was way too loud in my neighborhood at 4 am when I went to work.

When I put the SLP cat on with my SLP headers the noise went way down and the sound it a bit different as well. I still like it though but am curious how much HP I lost with putting on that SLP cat. You can really tell the exhaust restriction there.

Other than that another better system would be to just get Flowmaster 40's. Those sound great.

I know this is an old thread, but what about putting the Powerflo system on a 2005 Monte Carlo LS with the 3400? Would it sound better?

Itll def sound better. Wont get any performance gains. For that you need to delete the u-bend..

What I did with my 3400 was straight pipe it from the stock manifolds back.. Sounded great. Way better than any 3800 could hope to sound..
