I am pretty new on this forum and i just had a question on size of a cone filter to put on my 1997 monte Carlo 3.1 liter. i see them on this year and 3.1 liters on cardomain. com and stuff and i just cant seem to get the right size for it! i want to get rid of my air box and slap a k& N on there, i want the noise and the better breathing going on. does anyone have the size for a cone filter to ut directly on my 1997 ls Monte?

i have the cone filter on mine, takes a 4" inlet to hook straight to the MAF sensor

maybe I'm wrong but doesn't that defeat the purpose of a CAI more less a WAI being that close to the motor does K&N make a CAI kit that would extend the intake plumbing?

 

I have just the K&N filter in my `97 3.1 and was wondering about the cold air intake as well......
