well i started a previous post and didnt get any responses so i will try again...lol i have heard that removing the u bend and the resonator will make my flowmaster 40 series sound a bit better....i know where the u bend and the resonator is located but what do i do when i remove them...do i get a piece of straight pipe and hook everything back up to the mufflers or what...i planned on going ahead and getting this done as soon as possible...my uncle has a shop which put my mufflers on and he isnt to familiar with the u bend and resonator cuz he doesnt fool around with exhaust much...if anyone could give me some info on how and what to do it would be greatly appreciated

 

You will need a u-bend replacement (you can use straight pipe too, just have to allow for the O2 sensor):

Resonator can be straight pipe. Some members have reported excess in-cabin noise at times without the resonator

 

so if i just get a u bend replacement and leave the resonator on would it sound good or should i take off both

 

you get a little bit of noise difference getting rid of the resonator..but not enough to complain about i think the biggest difference in sound came when i put the highflow cat on, that made a little difference too...but i love it...a little bit of noise...but not toomuch..and it doesn't sound ricey @ all...

 

well i just got back from the muffler shop...i dont have enough cash right now to get the high flow cat but he took off my resonator for only 30 bucks...i have to say that it was a big improvement and sounds alot better now

 

did you get rid of the u-bend??
