Resonator or no resonator
Alright people, here it is. The biggest question of the century. Do i go with a resonator or no resonator when i get a new exhaust system. Let me know why i should get one or why i shouldn't. I do have a nice sound system so the drone ive heard about will pretty much be out of the picture.

This is a topic that Jason (the other Admin) and I are split on.
I'm a fan of resonators, I went with an 18" one. He's a fan of no resonator.
Truthfully I think both of our cars sound awesome lol

Keep the resonator on, and if you want the car louder then go back to the muffler shop and have it removed. Id rather have it on and then deciede I want the car louder than have the car louder to begin with and then make it quieter

Speaking from a mostly "stock" exhaust, deleting the res does NOT make it louder, it changes the tone/note of the exhaust. I have factory dual mufflers and I found the tone just a touch tinny after having the res removed, I don't think it sounds bad at all. BUT, you can feel a little extra on the Butt Dyno without that restriction, which is the big plus.
I've been running my Monte like that for a few year and I can't see me ever putting a res back on my Monte.
I know a single muffler 3800 powered Grand Prix and it's a little more noticeable in sound difference, but nothing I think worth complaining.
I say NO RESONATOR!!!

Hmmmm great input guys, ive been looking at the Magnaflow exhaust and ZZP monte carlo exhaust for our cars and not sure which one i want. ZZP claims that theirs is higher quality, will last longer, and they have amount of right sound compared to the Magnaflow that is "too loud." The ZZP is cheaper but Maganflow is a great brand. On ZZP's website it will only let me get rid of the 3" catback but of course i'd have to buy a new 3" downpipe if i did that option. But it seems like no resonator is the way to go!
