I am making a homemade intake and I got the first half of the air box off but cant get the second part of it off. Do I have to take the bar off that is along the top of the airbox?

Yes.

You even have to swing that bar out of the way to do an Air Filter change on the '04 Monte with Fender Well Intake.

yep like rick said u have to swing it out of the way...just take out the 2 screws out by the headlights and move it, they should b 13mm
