i didnt realize there was a recall for it. i thought it was more of a tsb, and only for vehicles that are experiencing oil loss over a certain amount of quarts per change.

check on ls1tech in the ls4 section. its been discussed at length, but since i havent run dod except when the car has gone to the dealer ive never experienced oil consumption issues, and never really read too much into it. im under the assumption that if the car was bought certified used that a letter would be sent to you if there was a recall on it, like in the case with the power steering cooler.
