Just bought a 2006 SS a couple weeks back. I couldn't possibly be more pumped about it. Its been very cold here in MN so I haven't been able to let her stretch her legs too much yet but I can say everytime I goose the throttle I cant help but smile. This is what a car should make you feel like. My question is about CAIs. Ive done all the research I can online. Short of finding someone with one installed near by and comparing that with my stock monte. Looks like k&n isn't preferred by some monte owners. I don't have a huge budget to work with but want to do some basic mods to set my car apart from the rest...and to make as many mustang owners as possible feel bad about themselves. Any advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated. My main concern is ive heard of problems with Mass airflow sensors in gm vehicles with CAIs.

The 06/07 guys can weigh in more on this... But if the K&N intake is like the ones for the '00-'05, it's a "Hot Air Intake", poor shielding from the engine heat. I'd keep looking for other options.

As for the K&N filters, those are oiled filters. I believe on any car with a MAF, if you over oil it when you clean them, you will have problems (as that oil passes on to the air stream and coats the MAF.

Thanks for the reply. From what I can gather all the CAIs use oiled filters. Cold Air Inductions sounds like they make a high quality product. I have one in the cart on their website but am waiting to order it until I can get a little more info from someone on here about how it has worked for them with an 06 or 07 ss.
